How to find the practice
If you haven’t been to see us before we are located at Brunel Court, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot, TQ12 4PB. Our building is a single storey rectangular building set back from the Brewers Paint Store and has black glass on its front.
As you enter the Brunel Industrial Estate, we are located 100m to the LEFT. Please look out for the large VETS sign on your left on the main road before the first mini roundabout. If using sat nav, please note the entire estate shares the same postal code!
Traffic can be busy in Newton Abbot so please make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to get here, especially if it is your first time.
You can park in front of the practice and come up the steps to our main door. We politely request that all dogs should remain on their lead and all other animals are kept in suitable containment.
Please call us on 01626 247888 if you need further assistance.
Out of Hours Emergency Services
The care for your pet is important to us regardless of the time of the day. We are committed to providing the veterinary service you need whenever you need it.
If you should veterinary assistance or advice, please call 01626 247888. Follow the instructions and you will reach Dr Lennon 99% of the time. Amity works closely with MiNightVet and Bay Vets Group to provide the comprehensive and caring emergency service you require.
MiNightVet is based in Totnes. It is made up of a dedicated vet team that specialises in pure emergencies only. As they do not work in the day, they are always super fresh and ready for you and your beloved pet. They have a special interest, experience, and training in all aspects of urgent critical care. Their services are available from 7pm to 8am daily, including weekends and bank holidays. You can find out more about them here. https://minightvet.com/our-practices/south-devon/
Bay Vets Group is based in Torbay. They have a team of vets that work on a rota basis. Their services are available from 8am to 7pm on weekends and bank holidays when Amity is not open. You can find out more about them here. https://www.bayvetgroup.co.uk/
Both services have been chosen over others as it is the closest (in terms of distance), most trusted (we know the vets!), and the most suitable for your needs.
So, when you call the usual Out of Hours number, you will be more than likely to reach Dr Lennon. This will result in two possibilities; 1. Dr Lennon may see you (subject to the usual Out-of-Hours fee of £250 for members or £400 for non-members) OR 2. Time depending, you may be directed to Bay Vets or MiNightVet (at a reduced fee, payable when seen).
To be seen at Amity by Dr Lennon out-of-hours, there will be specific criteria involved, namely…
- If no one else can deal with that particular situation OR
- You would like to see Dr Lennon personally AND
- He is actually available to see you
Apart from the above, what will happen is when you speak on the phone and he feels your pet will benefit from a vet consultation, he will then give you a number to ring the emergency vet service (during those hours mentioned above). On occasions, he may inform them of your situation to simplify things before they speak to you.
Just to be very clear, please call the usual Amity number 01626 247888 when you need us anytime and follow the instructions.
Take care and be safe.
You are a COOL CAT…
Amity No Show Policy
Over the past few months, there have been quite a few clients not turning up for appointments without notice. With Amity’s unique 30 minute consultations, this has resulted in substantial time wastage and more importantly, pet guardians with their pets that needed to be seen have been left disappointed.
We understand that we are all busy people and plans can change. If you feel you do not need or can’t make the appointment, we have a 24 hours notice policy for cancelling/postponing or changing your appointment.
1st time no show – It’s on us. No worries. We all get busy and forget.
2nd time no show – 50% due. We hate you missed your appointment. As a favour, we only charge you half.
3rd time no show – 100% due. We miss you! But your team has been waiting.
We will always attempt to contact you via various communication methods to notify you of your missed appointment.
For non-members, initial consultations are charged at £90 and subsequent consultations are charged at £75.
For members with complimentary consultations, each missed consultation will be charged at £60 (subsequent consultation, members’ rate) according to the guidelines stated above. This will be charged onto your account and you will receive an invoice at the end of the month.
Please help us to help you and your pet efficiently and effectively.
Thank you.
