Written prescriptions are available from us whenever medication is required for your animals. This provides you with the option to purchase medicines either directly from Amity or from a pharmacy of your choice. A valid prescription ensures that your pet receives the correct treatment, dosage, and professional oversight necessary for their health and well-being.
Your first prescription is £21 including VAT for the first medicine prescribed within a consultation and £12.50 including VAT for each additional medicine prescribed at the same consultation. Repeat prescription consultations for most drugs are usually conducted every 3 months to ensure the correct dosage and effectiveness, while monitoring for any potential side effects.
Please also be aware that there has been a rise in fraudulent and unregulated veterinary medicines sold online. Recent UK data suggests that over 1 in 10 pet owners have unknowingly purchased counterfeit pet medicines, with thousands of illegal products seized and removed from circulation each year. Purchasing medications from unverified sources can pose serious risks, including ineffective treatment, harmful ingredients, or counterfeit products.
